Good home gym power rack

Good home gym power rack
So far this piece of equipment has been perfect for my wife and I. It is just the right size. We have a 6 foot standard one inch bar that works great with it. It took us a couple of days (Fri night and Sat morning) to put together. Not that is was hard just took our time. I used the Allen wrench and a 11\16 size socket to tighten the bolts down. We did have to go buy some more washers as about 5 were missing. Packaging was torn open when it arrived. So we were out a couple to bucks for that. I would highly recommend getting a couple of one inch clamps to go on the back side of the stop bars as they slide out on me just tightening the bolts. Other then that, for a home gym we think it's great. It holds 500lbs including user weight but we don't really see ourselves squaring or pressing more then 300-350lbs anyway. Any more then that and we would need to go to a commercial gym.

    Half of the parts missing.

    I ordered this product on June 14 and discovered upon opening that I was missing many crucial parts, such as the support brackets, chin-up/pull-up bar, bolts, washers, etc. I submitted a Customer Service/Replacement Parts claim with the manufacturer, CAP Barbell, and was in semi-regular contact with a representative. I was provided with a product manual, which was missing from my package, and was able to determine which parts were missing and would need to be provided. My replacement parts order was confirmed and submitted on June 29 (~2 weeks after ordering). I then inquired with the manufacturer, CAP Barbell, regarding the status on July 3 and received a reply of "Hi, No tracking at this time" on July 9 (~3.5 weeks after ordering). I have received no other information from the manufacturer, CAP Barbell, despite numerous emails and even another Customer Service submission on their website. I'm afraid/believe, I will never receive my replacement parts order and have now wasted over $280.

    It just wobbles a little, doesn't seem 100% leveled despite our careful efforts in putting it together. We put it on a mat to absorb some of the shock and tilt, and that helps out a lot. Otherwise, I love my rack!

    Product is nice especially for the cost when compared to other racks. It was very easy to assemble. There is some shakiness overall but nothing I would be concerned about while lifting – I don’t have it bolted to the floor, just some weights on the weight plate holders. My two complaints is that 1) the the package was in very poor shape upon arrival. 2) several support plates were missing and the safety catch bars 3) trying to contact CAP for replacement parts by phone is a no go, no one ever answers and the voicemail is always full. I opened a online support case and finally got a response several weeks later indicating they are going to send me the parts (will see how this goes). I understand that COVID has caused many support and delivery delays but I’m very disappointed in their support.

    Anyways, overall I think it’s a great product for the price. Just know that shipping and any product support may be an issue for you.

    This took about 40 minutes to put together, easy to understand directions. The rack is very sturdy and I have no doubt it can support the weights it claims. I haven't tried it to the max capacity, but my husband has used it standing and with the bench and I have attempted to do pull-ups. This is a great investment in health.

    Overall this is a really great start up squat rack for a home gym. This won't break the bank like some of the Rouge set ups that push up to the thousands and will still get the job done for a serious everyday work out. Took me about two hours to put together after I had everything laid out and flipped through the instructions. Instructions say to use the provided Allen key and an adjustable wrench, but halfway through I swapped out the wrench for my impact gun and sped right through the job. If you are going to do the same make sure that you have all the bolts in before making any of them super tight and take care not to strip any. Installed on horse stall mats and didn't bolt down to my garage floor. Im a family big guy and make sure to put 45's on the base when using the dip or the pull up for added support.
